Sydney & Nate’s
bali Elopement
A styled elopement designed to inspire adventurous yet intimate destination weddings.
With its lush jungles, hidden waterfalls, and beautiful private villas, Bali offers the perfect setting for couples dreaming of an intimate and meaningful elopement experience.
This elopement was designed to showcase what a relaxed half-day elopement in Bali could look like. It combined intentional moments, breathtaking scenery, and the freedom to celebrate your relationship in a way that feels true to you.
For Sydney and Nate, this shoot was an opportunity to celebrate a season of life spent exploring and growing together.
Having made Bali home during their first year of marriage, they embraced the experience as a chance to create new memories, step outside their comfort zones, and share an adventure together.
From getting ready in a private villa to standing beneath a jungle waterfall, the day was filled with the kind of moments that make travelling as a couple so meaningful.
Meet Sydney and Nate
Sydney and Nate are the kind of couple who embrace every opportunity for adventure together. Travel has always been at the heart of their relationship; just a month after they started dating, they set off on a backpacking trip through Asia.
Their shared love for exploring new places, stepping outside their comfort zones, and creating meaningful experiences together is something you immediately feel when you're around them. A year ago, they chose to elope in Hawaii with an intimate and deeply intentional celebration that reflected what mattered most to them.
During their first year of marriage, they made Bali home, spending their days exploring the island, immersing themselves in a new culture, and creating unforgettable memories.
This shoot felt like the perfect opportunity to celebrate this chapter of their story.
When the opportunity arose to create this Bali elopement inspiration shoot, they were excited to step into a new experience together. From getting ready in a beautiful private villa to wandering through the jungle and standing beneath a towering waterfall, the day was filled with laughter, connection, and a shared sense of adventure.
Their easy-going nature and genuine connection made every moment feel effortless, serving as a reminder that the most meaningful experiences aren't always about grand gestures, but about being fully present with the person you love.
How I designed this Half-Day Bali Elopement
One of the things I love most about elopements is the freedom to create a day that feels completely personal. There are no rigid timelines or traditions to follow; just the opportunity to spend intentional time together and celebrate your relationship in a way that feels right for you.
Getting ready in a private Bali villa
We began the morning at a private villa tucked away amongst Bali's tropical landscape. To create a relaxed and authentic start to the day, makeup artist Syfia joined us at the villa to begin Sydney’s hair and make-up while Nate enjoyed a slow morning nearby.
The tranquil setting of the villa was our first location, and we took full advantage of the beautiful, soft morning light. Large glass windows flooded the space with natural light, while the contrast between the lush tropical greenery and the villa's modern concrete architecture created the perfect setting for intimate portraits and candid moments together.
These slower parts of the day often become some of the most meaningful, allowing couples to be fully present with one another before the excitement of the adventure ahead.
Before leaving the villa, Sydney and Nate each took time to write personal vows and reflect on their first year of marriage. These quiet moments of anticipation added another layer of meaning to the day and made the vow exchange feel even more special when we arrived at our final location.
Creating space for a relaxed elopement experience
With Bali's tropical climate bringing intense midday heat, we built in time to rest and recharge before heading to our second location. One of the biggest advantages of an elopement is the flexibility to move at your own pace, creating space to truly enjoy the experience rather than feeling rushed from one moment to the next.
exchanging vows at a hidden Bali waterfall
Later in the afternoon, we travelled to a secluded waterfall hidden within the jungle. Away from the busy tourist hot spots, we timed it perfectly to be almost the only ones there: a true luxury in Bali.
After a short walk through the forest, Sydney and Nate exchanged vows surrounded by the sounds of flowing water and lush greenery. The combination of adventure, privacy, and breathtaking scenery created the perfect setting to celebrate their relationship and end the day immersed in one of Bali's most beautiful landscapes.
We finished the day with some beautiful candid and intimate portraits that embraced the wildness and freedom of the waterfall.
An elopement timeline that reflects you
This timeline is a reminder that your elopement day doesn't have to fit into a traditional mould. Whether you choose to split your day into two or celebrate across the whole day, the most meaningful elopements are the ones built around your relationship, your priorities, and the experiences that matter most to you.
After all, celebrating your love story deserves more than simply fitting it into a schedule—it deserves a day that feels yours uniquely.
Your bali Elopement
Bali has become one of the world's most sought-after elopement destinations, and it's easy to see why. From luxurious private villas and lush tropical jungles to hidden waterfalls and dramatic coastlines, the island offers an incredible variety of locations for couples looking to celebrate their love in a unique and meaningful way.
But what makes a Bali elopement truly special goes beyond the scenery. It's the opportunity to slow down, step away from expectations, and create a wedding experience that feels completely your own.
Whether that means exchanging vows beside a secluded waterfall, spending a relaxed morning together in a private villa, Bali provides the perfect backdrop for a celebration built around connection and adventure.
For couples who value experiences over traditions, a Bali elopement offers the freedom to design a day that reflects who they are and what matters most to them.
After all, your wedding day is more than a ceremony; it's the beginning of a new chapter, and there's no better place to start that adventure than somewhere truly unforgettable.
